We offer morning and evening classes to accommodate the very busy working student looking to advance themselves in the healthcare industry and a possible job placement for students who successfully graduate and pass the state test in available positions in the community. We work with nursing homes, assisted living, hospitals, group homes and other home health agencies in the community.
The STNA program is a 75 hour classroom and clinical training program leading to the state certification test. Course material will cover infection control, communication and interpersonal skills, safety and emergency procedures, Residents rights and independence, basic nursing and personal care skill, mental health and social services needs, basic restorative services.
Program Requirements: You must be at least 18 years of age able to read and write. Must have proof of negative Mantoux skin test or chest X-ray within the past 6 months, good criminal background record and watch with second hand, complete physical within 90 days of registration and ability to lift 70 1bs. All required documents must be submitted on or before the first day of class.
The cost of the program is $475.00 per student, duration is only 3 weeks morning or evening class. Upon graduation students are offered a free training on working with the MRDD population. There is a $20.00 non refundable application fee and a $200 deposit before the first day of class. The balance can be paid through a payment plan and we accept cash, checks,Visa, Master card ATM/Debit card and money orders. For those who qualify Financial aid is available through the (Workforce Investment Act) funding (WIA) and other programs. Upon graduation students may work in a nursing home or in an MRDD facility.
Qualified students may have 100% of tuition paid by WIA and more information can be obtained by visiting Employment connection down town Cleveland or by going on their website at www.employmentconnection.us . The financial aid process may take between 2 to 4 weeks and student must start to apply early before registering for the class. Uniform requirements for clinicals and labs are blue scrubs, dark undergarments and white shoes.
The class hours for the morning are 10 am to 3.00pm Monday through Friday for three weeks and 5 pm to 10.00pm Monday through Friday for the evening class. Get the skills that give you a choice of employment. We give you more for your money.
